Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Regular/Full-time M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized Indian University or Institute recognized by the appropriate statutory authority. A minimum of 60% aggregate marks is required for General, EWS, and OBC candidates. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are eligible with passing marks. Final year/semester students expecting their results by July 31, 2026, are also eligible to apply, provided they can produce the final degree or provisional certificate by this date.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed in the E0 Grade and will receive an attractive pay scale of Rs. 30,000 – 1,20,000/-. The basic pay will be Rs. 30,000/- per month. In addition to the basic pay, candidates will be entitled to Dearness Allowance, other perquisites and allowances, and terminal benefits as admissible under NTPC regulations, both during training and after absorption.

During the one-year training period, selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹30,000 per month.

Selection Process

The selection process for NTPC Assistant Chemist Trainee Recruitment 2026 includes the following stages:
